Mobile Marketing in a Week, by Nick Smith

“The mobile device has become our communications hub, our diary, our entertainment portal, our primary source of media consumption, our wallet and our gateway to real-time information tailored to our needs. The revolution is now.”

-Nihal Mehta, Founder of Eniac Ventures

The Gist

A crash-course on why, and how to market your online content to mobile users (AKA basically everyone).

Thoughts

With the digital marketing landscape changing more rapidly than ever, it’s hard to pick up a book on the topic and feel confident that it’s fully up-to-date. After all, it seems like in the time it takes for an author write, publish, and distribute their book, EVERYTHING has changed already!

Nick Smith smartly takes this into account, and focuses on the timeless skills, such as:

  • Creating strong keywords
  • Diversifying your marketing strategies
  • Leveraging social media in a time-effective way

etc.

This was a great move.

Overall, the amount of value you will get out of Nick’s commentary on these subjects depends on what your goals are. I’m focused mainly on affiliate marketing, and I’ve been studying it for quite some time now. Most of this book was a refresher for me, so I wouldn’t recommend it if you consider yourself a high-intermediate to expert in the field.

However, this book will be perfect for you if you’re any of the following:

  • A relative beginner to digital marketing and online business in general
  • Planning to sell products via E-Commerce (LOTS of great tips for Dropshippers)
  • Interested in a general catcher-upper on the importance of mobile marketing, and strategies you can use to get a leg up on the competition

While I personally don’t fit perfectly into these criteria, I still loved the way the author lays out complex topics, and makes it fun to learn. I think we can all agree that there’s nothing wrong with a little refresher every once in a while.

Overall, Nick Smith has definitely earned my attention. I’ve added his other books to my reading list, so stay tuned for those in the future!

The Verdict

3.5/5 Stars
